Sorcery to Scientism 2
In Part 1, we looked at how Francis Bacon through his utopian work The New Atlantis, and the Royal Society introduced Scientism in the 17th Century to replace Sorcery as the force for power and control. I use the term Scientism to refer to the ways in which legitimate science and technology is co-opted and manipulated—including suppression of some sci-tech—to further the power and control agenda over humankind and the Earth. Scient-ism is an ideology, and it serves not We the People, but the Global Power Elite aka the Wold Controller Class.
Perfectibilists: The 18th Century Bavarian Order of the Illuminati (2009) by Terry Melanson offers a clear understanding that the secret society known as the Illuminati formed first in 1776 in Bavaria Germany under professor Adam Weishaupt at the University of Ingolstadt and two of his students and two other law students. The next year Weishaupt and the other Illuminati were inducted into the Strict Observance lodge of Freemasons. By 1782, one of the most important events in human history took place at the estate of William I in Hesse Germany. This became known as the Congress of Wilhelmsbad, commenced on July 16 and continuing for a week. The objective was for the members of a number of Freemasonic lodges to decide if the Strict Observance lodge of which Weishaupt and the other Illuminati were members should continue—and even its revolutionary approach based on the Knights Templar be adopted by all Freemasonry—or be disbanded. The vote was for disbanding, and the Illuminati promptly brought most of the rest of the Strict Observance members into the Illuminati. From there they spread over time through other Freemasonic lodges.
The great British historian Nesta Webster confirms this in her excellent book Secret Societies and Subversive Movements (1924). She depicts this development as a “terrible congress,” of “tragic secrets” and a “horror.”
The term “perfectibilists” refers to the theory that human beings exist impaired from their full potential, and that training, education, good breeding (eugenics), elixirs and other influences can bring people to their full potential, which is essentially god-like. Weishaupt first named his order The Perfectibilists before changing it to the Illuminati. This approach to human potential was in direct contradiction to the prevailing view at the time, Christianity, which believed human beings were divine in conception but flawed through tendency to sin, and could only be redeemed from this flaw through acceptance of Jesus Christ. Perfectibilism obviously leads to science and technology applied to human beings, a heresy at the time.
Melanson’s book is structured as a timeline, and it leads inevitably to the Illuminati’s devotion to science and technology as the path to power and control, while other secret societies at the time continued to focus on magic and sorcery, such as astrology, alchemy, Caballahism (Jewish black magic), and magic rituals. The Illuminati’s pursuit of chemistry over alchemy led to its adroit use of poisons for assassination, for instance. By 1785 the Rosicrucian order sounded the alarm against the heretical Illuminati, and Weishaupt for forced to flee Ingolstadt.
On July 20th a curious event transpired. Weishaupt and Illuminati member Friar Jacob Lanz were approaching the city of Regensberg, when a thunderstorm came upon them. Apparently Lanz was struck by lightning and killed. When his body was transported to his diocese and examined, his clothed contained strategic documents and a list of Illuminati members. In the endnote, Melanson maintains that though this death seems miraculous and was considered “divine indignation. The circumstances are almost unbelievable, and yet it really did happen.” (endnote 76, p. 45 )
Soon after, warnings of the Illuminati’s sinister plans to subvert all religion, monarchies, culture and wealth were issued throughout Europe—but nobody listened. the Illuminati went underground and resurfaced—possibly through other secret societies such as the Jacobins, Fabians and Freemasons—in revolutionary socialist movements from the French Revolution (1790) until today. Its focus has ever been upon use of science and technology to further its ambitions for world power and control, leaving behind the vain pursuit of sorcery and magic. To the Illuminati, scientism Is the new sorcery.
Part 3 will explore the depictive programming of the internet, cell phones, social isolation and AI remote control found in the short story “The Machine Stops” published in 1909! We are building toward an understanding of the ideological, strategic and infrastructural foundations of today’s 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR) and Great Reset. From 1623 to 2023 spans 400 years: the rise of Scientism to replace God.
